Many of you have contacted Nancy or me to ask about our OK relatives; they are all fine, with all living at least ten miles south of the tornado’s path. We all need to continue praying for everyone involved. Our North American Mission Board has already allotted funds to the Moore OK situation and has designated all incoming Disaster Relief donations at this time for this need. Thus donations you make to Disaster Relief through FSBCS will be sent to NAMB and used in OK; make checks to FSBCS and mark them and/or their envelopes “Disaster Relief.” Moreover, the Disaster Relief units from OK are already on the scene serving meals, providing shower trailers, and offering other assistance. Here’s a Baptist Press article on the situation:

God presents heaven so often in Scripture because of its power to inform, motivate, and bless.

This summer’s exposition of passages related to heaven can yield rewards for serious believers in all arenas of life: mind, family, job, school, health, etc. Solomon said that “a merry heart is good for us, just like a medicine” (Proverbs 17:22). Heavenly truths bring us joy and fulfillment on the inside and, thus, more influence and effectiveness outwardly.

God presents heaven so often in Scripture because of its power to inform, motivate, and bless. We will discover many side benefits from expository studies of major passages that also mention heaven!

Each Sunday, 4:30-5:45 p.m., Pastor Norwood teaches with projections of various cities and sites mentioned in the Bible during “In the Round: Eclectic Elements of Worship.” Note these photos and details related to the biblical, historical, and prophetical places mentioned in God’s Word. Remember, Palmer Howard provides worshipful music, Dale and Christine Harris lead our “Hymn Focus,” and Lisa Minard and Sally Tournay serve our “Sweet Treats.”

Bring your Bibles and be ready to discuss the impact of these places and more on planet Earth and the Kingdom of God!

Jerusalem: the city of our Lord’s death and capital of ancient and modern Israel, symbolizing God’s faithfulness to His people of old and His promises of the last days, perhaps being fulfilled now!

Corinth: the pagan city where the Apostle Paul preached about the Judgment Seat of Christ, using this local site of Roman rewards in his time and to whom he wrote two New Testament letters!

Egypt: the ancient land of bondage for the Israelites, where Joseph was raised to power, where Moses turned away from royalty to lead Israel, and which was prophesied to be a last-days enemy of Israel!

Petra: the rose-red city “half as old as time,” carved out of rock, where a great civilization once thrived and perished, and where prophecy states many Jewish people will flee from the Antichrist!

Jericho: the oldest and lowest city on earth, was conquered by the Israelites under Joshua, and reveals some of the ancient towers that may have stood in his day, revealing biblical accuracy!

Study about heaven and live as much of it now as you dare!

Revelation 21 says “God will wipe away all tears” in heaven! How touching, caring, promising. The Bible’s teaching about heaven highlights “little” things that make a big difference-like the Creator tenderly taking away our pains of life forever.

Actually, heaven will be “all the time” and “perfectly” many things God can do for us now to whatever degree we draw close to Him. Much closeness-much peace and purpose. Little closeness-little of these in this life!

Study about heaven. Live as much of it now as you dare!
