South Africa Mission Project
FSBCS is characterized by an emphasis on missional expressions of faith, from the inside out!
“on campus” — we are “on mission” with Jesus when ministering scriptural truth, music, drama, fellowship, etc. to various age groups and thus strengthening the Body of Christ: Family Bible Study Groups, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Kids Ministries (ARMOR, AWANA, GO, Kids Worship), Student Ministries (OutLoud, Club Night, etc.), Adult Choir, Senior Adult Ministry, College & Career Ministry, and community presentations (Scottsdale Passion Play, Living Nativity, etc.)
“beyond the walls” — we are “on mission” with Jesus when modeling the faith in our ministries throughout the community, state, nation, and world—going where people have need: the annual OutLoud Mission Tour in the U.S., Student Mission Trip at home or abroad, adult mission trips to our South Africa mission or to other countries (e.g., Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands, China, Argentina, etc.), the support of FSBCS individuals to other countries (several in Africa, South America, and Asia most recently), providing “The Brunch” one Sunday monthly for the Bridge’s worship service at the Rio Vista Center, and even the weekly ministry of Jubilee (our senior adult choir) in various care centers three times monthly in our local area.
“in partnership” — we are “on mission” with Jesus and extending the Kingdom partnering with our own denomination, different ones, or parachurch groups, or on independent mission projects: Southern Baptist Convention ministries (which include 10,000 missionaries in almost 140 countries), the Gideons, Baptist Student Ministries on AZ university campuses, Gamblers Anonymous, Bible Study Fellowship, Round Table (interdenominational ministry taking homeless families back into self-support), and The Bridge (a young adult led church operating the Rio Vista Center, an inner city ministry supported by FSBCS via financial support, weekly or semi-weekly volunteers, and special projects).
